Hi, I’m Mariah Swanson, I am currently a student earning my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I am passionate about helping others and believe meaningful change begins with a genuine, trusting relationship. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, grief, trauma, and feelings of being overwhelmed. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
As a former collegiate basketball player with a background in exercise science, I have a special interest in working with athletes as they navigate the mental and emotional challenges of performance, competition, and life beyond sports. I also have a passion for supporting military and first responder families, recognizing the unique stressors and transitions they often face.
My counseling approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Adlerian principles, with an emphasis on growth, connection, and solution-focused, goal-oriented care. I tailor each session to your unique experiences, helping you build on your strengths and move toward meaningful change.
Before entering the counseling field, I worked as a teacher. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a Master’s degree in Teaching from Eastern Oregon University. My experiences in education, athletics, and coaching have shaped my holistic view of wellness, recognizing the important connection between mental, emotional, and physical health.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, walking my dogs, exercising, following sports, and traveling.
I look forward to meeting you and feel honored to be part of your journey toward healing, resilience, and growth.
