Compassionate & Evidence-Based Eating Disorder Care
Healing from an eating disorder is a deeply personal journey, and Lauren is committed to providing individualized, evidence-based care that supports lasting recovery. The approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the understanding that full recovery is possible. Therapy is offered to individuals at all stages of their recovery, providing a structured yet flexible framework tailored to their unique needs.
Approach
We utilizes a multidisciplinary, whole-person approach that addresses not just behaviors but also the underlying thoughts, emotions, and beliefs contributing to disordered eating. Care is informed by leading treatment models, emphasizing medical and psychological stabilization, behavior change, and long-term emotional healing.

Therapeutic Modalities
A variety of evidence-based modalities are integrated to support clients in breaking free from restrictive eating, bingeing, purging, compulsive exercise, and body image distress, including:
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping clients recognize and reframe unhelpful thought patterns related to food, body image, and self-worth.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Providing tools for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Teaching acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions while simultaneously making positive changes. Often includes a focus on body neutrality over body positivity.
-
Family Systems Therapy: Therapy focuses on improving family communication, increasing emotional openness, and reducing patterns that reinforce symptoms (such as conflict avoidance or overcontrol). Families are educated about the illness, coached in supportive emotional responses, and guided to create a recovery-oriented home environment. By strengthening connection, clarifying boundaries, and promoting collaboration, the family becomes an active and healing part of the recovery process rather than a passive observer.
-
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP): Gradual exposure to feared foods and situations to reduce anxiety and avoidance behaviors.
-
Health at Every Size (HAES)-Aligned Care: Emphasizing respect for body diversity and dismantling weight-centric narratives that contribute to disordered eating.
Ethical & Client-Centered Care
Jenna fosters a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to take charge of their recovery. The work is trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and rooted in the belief that every individual is capable of healing. Clients are guided in establishing realistic goals, fostering self-compassion, and developing sustainable coping strategies that extend beyond therapy sessions.
Who Is Served
Therapy is provided for adolescents (12+) and adults struggling with a range of eating concerns, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, OSFED, and orthorexia. Additionally, co-occurring disorders are simultaneously addressed to promote full recoveries.
