Hello! My name is Marian Kelsey, LMFTA.

Life is hard. It can be unfair and at times lonely, but it can also be empowering and beautiful. Whether your story is lined with twists and turns or you have only recently come across that forked path, I want to help you find your way.

My belief is that one comes to therapy because they have already tried everything they know. I want to offer a new perspective and join you in creating solutions. Through Strategic Therapy, I aim not leave you with more questions than answers, but to sit beside you and develop a solution that is unique to your path. I enjoy looking into creative approaches to working together: art, music, mindfulness, and movement are a few that I personally find valuable.

I find myself drawn towards working with transitional stages. As a therapist, mother, sister, friend, and hobby equestrian I understand the pressure to wear multiple “hats”. I believe that creating a safe, encouraging, and supportive atmosphere lays the foundation for change. I am confident in my ability to treat anxiety, depression, relationship issues, motherhood, women’s issues, shame and teenage issues. Through Strategic Therapy, we can work together to find the solutions to whatever it is holding you back from your best life.

I graduated from North Central University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a focus of loss and bereavement. As well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I am also certified in TeleMental Health and trained in Brainspotting. In the future I plan to continue training in loss and bereavement as well as animal assisted therapy. I have lived within Whatcom County my entire life, minus short stints with the military. I love the small-town feel and the welcoming, supportive community. It is a great place to raise my three children, and while I love escaping to a tropical oasis, there is nothing like rounding those corners of I-5 coming back into beautiful Whatcom County.

I am looking forward to meeting you.
